Kuljit Bhamra Part of the Bath Music Festival lineup at Invention

Be prepared to be bewitched by spicy grooves and laid-back melody, as award-winning saxophonist Andy Sheppard teams up with composer and virtuoso tablas percussionist Kuljit Bhamra to produce a stunning night of musical entertainment, presented and recorded by BBC Radio 3 as part of the Bath Music Festival lineup.

Andy Sheppard's creativity knows no bounds, as his recent critically applauded 'Deep River ' project with Artistic Director Joanna MacGregor has illustrated. Tonight's beautifully laid back and intimate gig showcases another of his longstanding partnerships, with fellow polymath Kuljit Bhamra. Long, unfurling melodies, spicy grooves and subtle improvisation characterize Sheppard's style; whilst Kuljit Bhamra's background in classical tabla, bhangra and sophisticated multi-tracking techniques bring a layer of sophistication to the pulse-elevating dance rhythms.

Doors open at 10.30pm, with tickets available via the Bath Music Festival site. Tickets cost £10, with normal concessions available.
